Good food & very friendly staff
Used the shop on many occasions but never realised they had a garden and dedicated tea room out the back!
We went for a cup of tea and cake at Robyn's Nest on Saturday afternoon. Due to not opening on Sundays they only had one cake, and scones available which was disappointing, but still delicious! Also, they told us the fruit juices on the menu were out of date so couldn't sell them to us.
Been before and they've changed seating arrangements in the cafe. Now have round tables rather than oblong, with less space in a small place. Not great when a couple came in with a baby buggy too. Don't like eating when someone else's chair is pushed against mine. Food good still though . Shop looked like someone had pinched half the goods! Assume they were getting new stock in ?
My wife and I visited Writtle today and came across this tea room. When we arrived it was quite busy and we waited patiently for around 20 minutes to be served, only to find other diners who had arrived after us having their orders taken! The menu looked very good and I am sure we were just unfortunate but our experience was very disappointing. Needless to say we left without ordering and I did mention our disappointment to the gentleman taking the orders.
